Missoula Floods Surround

Projection telling the story of the Missoula Floods.

In the last ice age, cataclysmic floods regularly swept through the entire Pacific Northwest. A companion piece to the floods navigators kiosks at the Mobius Science Center, this large-scale motion graphics projection dramatizes a Missoula Flood event — from the breakdown of an ice dam to the voyage of flood waters through the region. For scientific and geological accuracy, this projection was painstakingly developed using GSI data and elevation maps.
